More
than a phrase or a concept, SpeakEasy is a place where women, who have
or have had breast cancer, gather together to share their experiences,
learn coping techniques, and find emotional support through the strength
and warmth of embracing friendships. By the sheer virtue of
understanding, SpeakEasy women help each other to get on with their
lives.
Guest speakers provide an educational forum and the opportunity for members of SpeakEasy to interact with experts in the various fields relating to breast cancer. Topics are scheduled throughout the year and constitute fields of interest that the members themselves have requested such as reconstructive surgery; radiation, chemo and physical therapies; lymphedema, depression and nutrition. Also included are the life style topics of sexuality, macrobiotics and cosmetology; spousal, family and workplace relationships. SpeakEasy meets at Lourdes Medical Center, Willingboro, NJ the first Tuesday of the month 7pm to 9pm. From initial biopsy through treatment and beyond, SpeakEasy can make a difference. Share your feelings with other women who have had similar experiences; the laughter and the tears. Connect with someone who's been there. Find the joy that was never lost. Stay in touch for a lifetime. |
